Concept

Participants start the run together at the beginning of the day, running around the track until they reach 2.5 miles (10 laps) during the first half hour. Once the distance is completed, runners stop and rest until the next block. For example: a runner finishes her 2.5 miles in 25 minutes and rests for 5 minutes.

At the beginning of each half hour (on the :00 and :30), participants must be ready to set off again and the start is given for the next miles. The race can last up to 9 hours.

The aim: to stay in the race as long as possible.

There are 3 ways for one's run to end :
1. a personal decision to stop
2. the inability to complete the distance within a half hour (pace)
3. participant's absence at the starting line at the beginning of a half hour block

Fundraising

We like to run for a good cause. For this event, the aim is to support Perla - a non-profit which we invite you to discover here :

This will be done by sponsoring the laps run, in accordance with the following procedure :

a) You friends and family can commit to make a donation according to the number of laps you complete. For example, a friend pledges 30 cents per lap : 6 half hours ran = 60 laps x 0.30 CHF = 18 CHF
b) On race day we will keep a lap count for each participant.
c) You'll then receive an effort certificate, which you can pass on to your sponsors and donations can be made directly to Perla.

Runners are free to join in or opt out of this fundraising effort. Price impact: see practical info.
