Human trafficking is global issue, a crime that enriches its perpetrators at the expense of the most vulnerable. Switzerland is no exception to this grim reality: traffickers regard it as a preferred destination country.
Perla's mission is to fight against trafficking, doing so mainly within the sex work industry.

In this domain, the percentage of exploitation victims is very high and allocated resources remain insufficient. Perla's field observations reveal that the majority of those involved want to escape prostitution, overwhelmed by the threats, abuse and trauma they endure.

Perla acts through three main channels:
-
psychological, social and legal support at facilities in Lausanne
-
prevention and awareness-raising in various sectors
-
public relations through collaboration with other organizations as well as legal and social partners.

Further information is available on their website, which can be accessed here. PERLA is a registered charity and relies solely on private donations.
